The scent of a Jaguar

I've just sat in my Dad's 1998 XK8 for the first time in many years and the interior smell immediately reminded me of all the other Jags he's owned in the past. As well as this 1990s car, he's had ones from the 1980s, 1970s and 1960s and all have smelled exactly the same.
We've had plenty of other leather interior cars, but none of them smell as good as a Jag. They really are the perfect place to enjoy wafting along as the V8 purrs away up front. You'd never believe it was only worth three grand or so nowadays.

You are correct, they do share a certain character and smell the same way! It's the leather. Glorious, thick cut stuff, not that some arse-washed bin bag s
te like you get in some cars. That was the first thing that I noticed when I opened the door of my XJ on the day I bought it, it bloody smells of quality!
Perhaps Jaguar have a vial of 'classic scent' that they spray into their cars and let it soak in?
