Misfire when on gentle throttle IN LUXEMBOURG

I am currently driving back from Italy in the Chim and it has developed a bad misfire.

When it first began this morning I pulled off the motorway and checked the HT leads and found one not pushed right home and it was covered in verdigris. I cleaned it up and pushed back on and it ran fine for a while but now it keeps recurring after each time we stop check everything it runs fine for a while then misfire returns. Anything I shouldcheck in additional to leads, dizzyc cap and rotor ARM?

On the off chance check that the threaded caps on the ends of the spark plugs are all tight, I played with a misfire for ages until I figured out that one of mine were loose.

Thanks for that. Have checked them and all tight.
I have refitted the old dizzy cap and leads that I brought with me and seems to be running better on a short test run.
The run to the ferry tomorrow will be interesting.

A 500 mile from Luxembourg home and never missed a beat. |So the problem was clearly with the crappy replacement dizzy car and leads.

Assuming there's no physical damage to the parts, might be that the misfire has left some carbon tracking, which will promote further problems. Not sure how effectively it could be cleaned if so, but perhaps not automatically scrap if otherwise ok.

Have seen it said that good dizzy caps are getting hard to find.

Thanks Gary. When I got the new pats from the factors I wasn't exactly overwhelmed by the quality but I expected them to last a little better than they did.

On reverting to the old leads & Cap all is well again.

I will order a decent set of Bosch leads.

It certainly was a great trip. Drove down to Northern Italy. Two and a half thousand miles in 10 days including Stelvio Pass (meh!) and the Grimsell and Gotthard Passes (fantastic).

Only issues were the misfire and a broken headlight.
