I don't usually dream, maybe once or twice every six month or so. And if I do, it's such a shock I wake up mid dream and it becomes lucid - which is brilliant. It's like living in the Matrix.

ANYWAYS!

I've been having a recurring dream, the details of which I'll never bore you with because who ever wanted to hear about someone elses dream?! Nobody. Ever.

However, is there a valid explanation for recurring themes? I'm usually quick to dismiss woolly psychoanalysis but there has to be a reason for my brain deciding my painfully dull dream needed an omnibus edition.

You will actually dream every night - but may not remember it.

I always lucid dream but didn't realise that not everyone experienced this.

Always assumed that bit in films when people wake up in a sweat and say 'oh thank goodness its only a dream' was a bit of poetic licence.

There was a documentary on the BBC about lucid dreaming a few years back, I happened to watch it and was really surprised. I thought everyone always knew they were in a dream and if a dream was taking a strange turn could end it or get it back on track.

I also have recurring dreams often involving some large spiders (very friendly, I might add). No idea why they occur so can't help you there! Maybe something that you are trying to work out..?
