Hi All,

I'm after some help please.

Does anyone know of a company that would cut me a windscreen from E marked ( E1 43R ) laminated glass?

It must have the correct markings as the car has yet to pass IVA, and it would be good if it was within reasonable distance.

It's for my Seven so the screen is flat. I did think that it could be cut from a Landy 90/110 if obtaining the glass is a problem.

Hopefully one of you have solved this problem before.

Cheers.

One of the caravan window supply companies may be able to assist. I think some of the larger car windscreen suppliers also do them. Flat glass (even with the E mark) should be straight forward.

Many thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I'm after a proper legal safe windscreen that will pass IVA.

I think that I have found a supplier, so you could say that I have cracked it. (I'll get my coat)

One of the big windscreen sheds, Autoglass I think, used to keep flat panes of windscreen glass.

Close mate….. very close. Autoglaze.

The bad news; no carrier.
The good news; they have a job coming up in Ipswich so I can meet them and collect.

As they will come up the A12 I thought of meeting them at the Witham turn off.

( I used to know a girl called The Witham Turn Off. )

I had a screen cut for the Dakar, I was told they use a lorry window as the source.

I collected the screen today, with those all important numbers in the corner.
Hopefully this will satisfy the IVA inspector.

I'm confused.
The IVA manual says EI is toughened glass. EII is laminated.

I think the confusion arises from numbers versus roman numerals.

The II for laminated is left of the circled E1 ( in my pic )

I believe that E1 is a German standard and DOT-459 is made in China so "Chinese made to a German standard"

I'll scan section 45 of the IVA manual tomorrow. I think 9 is the latest edition.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I don't bite.
