Help with MTB spec

Knowing enough to make a fool of myself I'm looking at the below spec. Can anyone see a weakness in the build anywhere? It is a s/h bike so we'll have to see on the condition of everything. Primary use is purely off road fun for winter and the odd XC/CX race.

It's a Scott Scale 700 RC which is 650b.

The SRAM shifters are horrid. Shimano triggers much better.

I disagree, shimano are not a patch on SRAM.

Just to add balance, you understand. I prefer the positive click or the SRAM and the fact that you can adjust the lever position .

I disagree too. My X0 shifters are the best I've ever used. Leagues ahead of the XTs I used on my last bike.

Sram is loads better in my opinion. However I wouldn't not buy a bike just because it has shimano.

I've got my hardtail fitted with XTR and my full sus with 11 speed xo. Sram wins hands down.

My LBS only fit shimano cables and will persuade anyone who comes in asking for Gore, Nokon, Jagwire etc away and back to Shimano (or XTR if you really want to spend money on it)

Fair enough, when I bought my Commencal Supreme it had SRAM, I rode it for a couple of weeks and decided it was junk compared to XT off it came and on went XT. Biggest complaint were leave positions, two thumb operated leavers one hidden behind the other so you have to reach around for up shifts. Shimano with well separated finger and thumb far better. I'd say SRAM are only operated that way as they were late to the party and couldn't 100% copy Shimano so had to do something a bit different. Think about it, where does your thumb hang and where would the natural shifter position be? The give away is the going down leaver for both Shimano and SRAM is almost identical because it's correct any other leaver for the thumb is in an un-natural position.

The benefit for me is that I haven't used anything else. Enjoying the simplicity of having a brake lever totally isolated from any kind of shifter. It's the little things in life
