Valve springs?

After doing some bits on the car ( rockers ) I have no inner valve springs (500) is it a good idea to replace them or leave it?

Dont think the fitted or similar spec 500 cam warrants them IMO someone either knew better or had taken a chance if you see how the stock fitted spring retainers sit over those inner springs its st IMO they dont seat on a flat seat its all very Heath Robinson & one of the 1st things I addressed on my cylinder head build I now have Comp Cams retainers fitted for this reason. Of course they could be after-market heavy duty singles for the cam kit installed.

Have double springs on mine. An outer spring on pot 2 recently broke into 4 bits. The inner spring saved the day I think. Compression was 166 ft lbs compared to the other pots at 171. Mystery why it broke.
