Chuffed to bits..............
Discussion
Well, well, little ole me (some of you may know me as Mr Fiddle
) has only gone and carried out an injector restoration and guess what....it works !!!
I took the advice of a good friend and took my time by doing it in 3 sessions, finishing it off today,
I had a bad fuel leak so decided to whip the plenum off, injectors out, fuel rail off, all rad hoses off, extra air valve off and gave all the fuel injection ancillaries a refurb/clean. Renewed the rocker cover gasketts too as the new ones I was given with the car had sat in the boot for over 2 years !!!
I sent the injectors off to have new injector hoses crimped on (decided not to go for a full cleaning service at £25 each !!!) together with brand new injector seals at the bottom. These are special seals (not standard o rings) so if anyone needs them too let me know and I'll give you the contact details of the supplier.
There were a few trumpets lose so made them nice and secure, gave the plenum a right good clean, cleaned the oil separator, cleaned all the injector connectors etc. etc.
Went to fire her up, started straight away but ran like a bag of nails
So then cleaned all the earths and checked the ecu multiplug that was about 1mm shy of being all the way in on the ecu.
Fired her up again, that's better
Took her out for a spin, WOW.... it has never ran like that (I know I have said this before but this time it really is a different animal), now runs like a 390 should (watch out wedg1e !!! lol ).
Really chuffed too bits.........
The only advice I can give is what I was told, take your time and don't rush it !!!
Happy wedging everyone
I LOVE MY WEDGE............

Well done "Mr Fiddle"...Whoops...I mean "Ian"....
See how satisfying it is when you do something properly....
Mmmm...
.."Chuffed"....A strange word....You can use it quite rudely to compliment a young lady.."Nice Chuff"....She won't know what you mean and will think its her B..When you know its her C...For Chuff.....
Or it could be used as an interpretation of being overly happy...As in Mr Mastons usage .."Chuffed to bits"...BUT... As our friend pointed out it can also have a sinister meaning...Trains do indeed "Chuff"..In fact they.."Chuff Chuff"....So to have a friend who is "Chuffed to bits" is a bit of a conundrum...I think i like the first "Chuff" cos if i had that right now i too would be "Chuffed to bits"...In all senses of the word....
