Morning

Wondering if i could have some info please, my friends car went into a bodyshop to be re-sprayed for a show at the end of October, the bodyshop is now saying the car was never there, and from looking around, there isnt any sign of the car!!!

The police have been informed but where does he stand with relation to his insurance, as it wasnt taken off a drive or road, it was willingly taken with the keys handed over?

Thanks

Email chains?

Work needed, quote price, I'll bring it down next week, dropped it off today, should have it done next Thurs - that sort of thing?

Does he have no evidence that the workshop MIGHT have had the car?

I would have thought insurance was the least of the problem. Just because you willingly give a car to a garage for work, doesn't entitle them to deprive you of it...

If he can't prove the car ever went to the garage, though, I can't see them paying out.

I don't believe he dropped it off one day and the following day it had vanished. Does he not have the name of the guy he dealt with, any phone or email records?

Was there perhaps a dispute over payment?

Garages don't just 'lose' cars. Something has gone on here, and I think you need to give us a bit more background about what has happened.

Did it have any interesting or unusual bits on it?

Rare alloys, seats etc?

If it did, start searching the internet, ebay, key words in to Google etc.

They might turn up.

Did he leave the car in the morning and posted keys through the letter box?

I'm guessing this is the sailient point - keys through letter box or even on top of wheels. Either seen doing this or keys spotted/retrieved & car taken before garage aware it was left there.
