Do you drive in these conditions??
Discussion
I'm not a TVR owner, at least not at the moment, but i do have a 330i sport. Now in these conditions with the traction and stability off it can be a handfull so i can only imagine what your TVR's are like
???? Do you still use them all winter??? As far as i know they have no traction control
other than gentle use of the right foot!! Any intresting or painfull memories???

managed to catch it though after a few frantic seconds of opposite lock.
Used it today aswell, Not using my main car as it is going in Thursday for new Brake pads as they are right down and the warning light is coming on.
Just have to be a bit careful with the Chim though in this weather.

I drove to work and back in her today.
I went for a mini hoon around kent on Monday afternoon on some of the smallest and muddyest roads available.
I work from home so don't have to use it for a daily commute, but I've never left the house and decided to use public transport in favour of the TVR
I did have plans to buy a daily hack for the really bad weather but so far I've not seen any weather that (with suitably adjusted driving) is scary enough to deter me.

Well I've owned a chim and a new Tusc S '03' (which just sold) for a new M3!
I know how to drive a TVR in most conditions and have a fair bit of track/instruction time but I lost the back end of the M3 (and this was with the traction control on!) last weekend when I put my foot down after coming off a roundabout onto a dual because I still get idiots who want to be faster then me sitting on my bumper with inches to spare down right dangerous!!! (only really experienced this with TVRs but now same with the M3).
By going from a TVR into a fully spec'd up BMW draws you into a false sense of security and will now treat the car with the respect I have always shown my TVRs!!
Alan.
I've only got one car so not much choice.
'Traction control' consists of only using a tiny bit of the accelerator for most of the time, but this still seems to be more than enough to catch up with all the rest of the traffic.
Taking it this easy it actually seems more planted than a lot of cars I've driven.

Just drive it like you would ride a powerful motorbike, very smoothly, no sudden inputs, read the road conditions.
Exactly right.
We drive our Chimaera (and my BoxS) less at this time of year and use the Vectra more. But all three cars still get regular use all year round.
The Chimaera is only a handful if one is insensitive with the controls or simply tries to make more progress than conditions really allow for.
There will always be, however, a price to pay in poor wet weather handling for the wide tyres and light weight.
There again - in the snow the Chimaera is utterly, utterly useless. So we don't use it if there's snow lying on the ground. Last year I had to have mates push it up the hill to my house - oh the ignominy, the shame....
Yep, used the Tusc everyday for the last 2 weeks (rain, snow etc etc)
Easy on the throttle on the bends. Not quite driving Miss Daisy, but taking it steady.
Gets on my bits when the Scooby do's and EVO's get a bit close to try and push you to floor it. (but we can save the lesson for dry weather)
