The oddest MySQL thing, ever! Heelp!
Discussion
I have just encountered the oddest thing. When I run a query against my data through a php form on my server, I return 130 records. It's what I would expect. (effectively, the form runs SELECT 'LAST' FROM TABLE)
However, when I run PHPMyAdmin remotely against the table, with the same query it only returns 102 rows.
So, I remote control the machine and run the query through PHPMyAdmin, it's back up to 130 rows. Most peculiar.
In effect, whenever I run anything from localhost, it returns the correct records, but when I run it from a client, I only see a subset of the total records.
I get the same diluted results if I run the query through DreamWeaver (Just to eliminate a MySQLAdmin bug.
I have no idea where to start tracking this down. Could someone point me in the likely direction please.
Many thanks,

Not that I can see. Even if I do a "browse" with MyAdmin remotely, it only shows up the diluted set. If I then remote control the box I just ran the query against and run it MyAdmin directly from there, I get the full set.
It's most peculiar indeed.
All I can think is I have a problem with the server configuration somewhere in the client settings as in the jumble that will come out below.
Gut feel, I need to set character set client in my.cnf. Does that sound likely?
Variable Session value Global value
character set client utf8 latin1
character set connection latin1 latin1
character set database latin1 latin1
character set results utf8 latin1
character set server latin1 latin1
character set system utf8 utf8
collation connection latin1_swedish_ci latin1_swedish_ci
collation database latin1_swedish_ci latin1_swedish_ci
collation server latin1_swedish_ci latin1_swedish_ci

Very, very strange. Hands up, I'm not your man for MySQL. If it were Oracle I'd have said it was a commit issue (always catches me that one as SQLServer auto commits as default).
Erm...err..does MySQL use a different method for network query execution? Is the box restartable (to clear caches etc). Straw clutching really, and you've probably been through all these ideas anyway.
