I much prefer cars to have names as opposed to numbers so I'd really like to see the new Maserati renamed from 4200. There are some really cool names from Maserati's past and any of these would do fine:

Ghibli
Khamsin
Shamal
Sebring

What do you reckon?

Some famous names :

Mistral,Ghibli,Merak,Khamsin,Kyalami,Shamal.

However the irst road going maseratis (except the a6G cars as one offs) were the 5000GT and 3500GT. So the Numeral and GT has history on it's side too..

Many of the 'names' are names of famous winds. Not sure what other fmous breezes of the itallian / european region remain to be used...

Scirroco and Corrado are already taken (at least I think Corrado is a wind too, isn't it?)

Personally, I'd like to see Khamsin make a comeback

They haven't used Aquilo or Buran yet - both sound very Maserati.

Need it be a wind? If they can use GranSport why not follow up with GranTurismo - it would suit the car, although a little obvious and simplistic.

Come to think of it, Quattroporte is on exactly the same level - just as obvious.

The Maserati Buran. Not what you might have hoped for thoguh McNAb! Looks more like a Renault Espace!

And of cousre it was only a prototype, so it's not been used in production at all so you are right really...

Funnny that...it did occur to me after consulting my seventh encyclopaedia, and checking my Navigator's Almanack (1872 edition), that some cheeky sod at Maserati might already have thought of it!

Have they already dug up Aquila too (Roman)?
