Reading to Hertfordshire

not exactly a euro tour but I've just started work in Reading and the M25 / M4 is boring me to tears, does anyone know of a more interesting route, don't mind the long way home (to Elstree)

J 8/9 the A404 to High Wycombe and then cross country, although iam a bit lost around those parts!!

There's not really a lot of options. Just a quick look at a map'll show you that you're either going to crawl through suburban sprawl or have to do a bit of a round-the-houses.

It'll depend a bit on where in Reading you are, but follow the Thames towards the A404 Marlow bypass, Bourne End through to Beaconsfield, then Amersham or the Chalfonts?

The A4155 goes from Caversham to Marlow along the river. I don't believe there's a single section of NSL

Depending on where you are in Reading, getting to Caversham might take up half of the journey time
