Lidl are doing their array of reasonably priced motoring accessories, I picked up a car cover for my MX5 while its in the garage over winter. I don't really expect it to be any good if the car is left outside in the weather but it'll act as a decent sized dust sheet whilst its locked away for winter. I hovered over the trickle charger too, usually the Lidl stuff is made by someone else and is of a decent quality, anyone used one before?

Anybody bought one of those jacks?

Just after experiences. Obviously you can't REALLY go TOO wrong at £20... but every pound's a prisoner...

It looks very similar to the one i got a few years ago in a Halfords pack with axle stands etc. Lifting height isn't great and my biggest bugbear with it is that it's almost impossible to gently lower the thing, you turn it so far and it just seems to drop.

I've got one, had it about a year, it's been great so far.

But ..... I also have one of their flip front motorcycle crash helmets, so according to some on here I should be dead already.

So far I've found Lidl stuff to be of excellent quality, except for a steak pie that last week smashed my dental bridge, I now look like whistlers mother, and they are talking to me about collecting the large piece of bone that has done this.

Send the bone off for testing. It'll probably be from a horse.

Do you find that they revert to standby mode, once you've had a power cut, and are no longer maintaining.

I have one here in Greece and as far as I know it's only the plug that's different and it definitely reverts. Not a lot of good if you have a power cut, 2 days into a 3 month trip

That compressor is the exact same as the Ring 'heavy duty' one for 1/3 of the price.

I may have to pick one up tomorrow then as they're at least twice the price elsewhere.

Might give the pies a miss though.

Lidl brake cleaner is excellent stuff - not sure if they're selling it this time round though?

They ran out ages ago. That's why they didn't clean up all the bits of bone in the pie factory......

I didn't see any, nor did I see any of the 5 ltr bottles of windscreen washer concentrate. Its bloody good stuff and again is apparently some fancy German make that VW sell for lots of money, in a Lidl bottle.

Was that tongue in cheek? It's not a dust cover, it's a fking polythene bag! Enjoy the moisture!

The jack I bought from Aldi a few years back was a disappointment (side bars bent and the metal clip that pulls the piston up needs constant tinkering to keep it attached), probably wouldn't buy a cheap jack again. Check the lifting range for the Lidl one as you may not fit it under your car.

Lidl said:
Lifting range approx. (mm): 142 - 336 (or 157 - 351 with supplied adaptor)

+1. They're very good and also suitable for the Panasonic gel battery in older MX5s.
