Chaps!

I'm after some advice and/or recommendations.

I am involved with a charity who do a lot of public events for various fundraising things. We've had a wireless speaker for a while, but it's a bit pants so needs to be replaced.

The 2 big things it must have/be is a) fully rechargeable and b) wireless mics. It is used in some rural locations where power is not always available, so to be able to charge it up and get on with the job is a must.

In terms of what else it needs to do, it must be able to output good enough sound to be heard clearly from about 50 yards away. The last time our old one was used was at a statue unveiling with about 500 people there, the farthest person from the speaker was around 1/2 a football pitch away and didn't even know someone was speaking!

Budget wise, as it's for a charity, the lower cost, the better, but around £250 would be a maximum (tough ask, I know)! I've found the below which I think fits the bill.

Any advice and/or recommendations on other setups would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, thumbs up for the QTX here.
We got this and used it for our morning briefings on the rally to about 120 people easily heard 100 yards away, also came in handy if we wanted some music at any stage.
Battery lasts about 8 hours playing music at sociable levels. Or a few days if just using from chats about 30 mins long 2 or 3 times a day.
Plays music directly off a USB or SD card and wireless mics have decent range.
Ideal for what you said you'll need it for.

That QTX is pretty good value for money, there is not much else out there at that price. They do a smaller 12" version if you want a smaller unit.

I've use them on a few jobs, they are not very robust, but for occasional use they're okay. I had a battery break loose inside, must have been dropped too hard. Also had electronics fail. Also note the wireless mics are VHF rather than the better UHF, they're okay but do suffer with at the odd drop out.

But, for £200, they're great VFM.
