Hello everyone

Took our CITREON C4 VTR 2005 in for an MOT and the guy said one of the springs need replacing but as it has been lowered they need us to tell them what spring to get?

I had a look about and seen anywhere from 30 to 45mm.

We have no way of contacting the previous owner so we dont know what he had done.

Would it make that much difference if we guessed?

Regards

Geoff

A good starting point would be to measure the free length and wire diameter of the remaining spring. And yes, it would make a significant difference if you guessed wrong!

I'd be tempted to replace all four with the standard OEM items. Springs aren't that expensive and if one of the ones used to "lower" the car is of the quality that means it has already snapped then I'm sure the rest won't be far behind...

Yeah good point, he just text and said they will measure it in the morning. Ill give him a ring and ask him for a price for all four.

Cheers

That car wil only have 2 springs on the front and a torsion beam on the rear
