Make you right there mate...Its a pooey design and i used to go through clutch cables yearly...I always wondered about that tube...Mine was bolted up tight but had a nut and a locking nut so i used to wonder if it SHOULD rotate which would elevate the stress on the cable?.

The tube on Delilah had a groove in it where the cable was gradually cutting through.
I did eventually find a correct cable but it was still a VERY heavy clutch....Anything improvement would be a welcoming one for those with that design...Cheers...Ziga

I've threaded my cable through a bicycle inner tube. Fits in the mount nice and neat. Not had any bother so far. Just a couple of inches of an old racing tube works wonders. No fraying of the cable after 2 years and about 3k miles.

Zig, the tube bit on mine does not rotate either - has a square locator so is fixed to pedal. I reckon if it rotated, the cable would distort all over the place and clutch wouldn't work at all. Mine had a groove too, which I used as a guide to how much to cut off.
Mmm...It was my thinking at the time that if the tube moved in sync with the pedal then it wouldn't stress the cable....It would of been much better with a plate to stop the outer and then a nipple...(Ooo missus) on the pedal end to pull the cable..But then its a TVR... smile
