Has anyone had this fitted to their classic or bought a car with it fitted?

I'd be keen to hear from anyone who has had real-life experience of the system in use, as other than Harry's Countach in EVO i've not read anything else.

Are there any UK based companies who offer a similar system? (I know EZ have a UK agent but i've not had a very good experience talking with him!)

I don't know about that _particular_ conversion, but there's quite a few on the VW T25 forums who've had Corsa EPS fitted, and I know of a couple of people doing it to Citroen Tractions and H-vans. Not heard much negative, assuming you're happy with the cost.

I'm planning on having power steering fitted to my Sunbeam Lotus.

Have a look at Power Steering Solutions Facebook page. They do stuff for Mk 2 Escort rally cars, I 'm sure it's Corsa electric bits they use..

I recently installed electric power steering in a 1966 Mustang. I did not use a kit, I simply pulled a column style EPS from a newer GM vehicle and then spliced the unit into the original steering column.

The results far exceeded my expectations and the cost was less than $200. I designed a controller that automatically adjusts assist level based on vehicle speed, so that the steering feel is "just right" regardless of speed.

I documented (with pictures) how I went about this on a Vintage Mustang forum. If anyone is interested do a google search for "Best $200 mod ever (EPS)"

The electronic power steering columns from a Vauxhall Corsas seem to be popular for retro-fitting or where engine swaps mean a PAS rack won't fit.

Finally a use for Vauxhall Corsas!
