New Tax Rules & DVLA Loopholes etc
Discussion
Has anybody else spotted flaws in the system yet?
Having just read this at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa... there appears to be quite a few.
1: at 10:42 in the above publication The DVLA system no longer requires a vehicle to be insured to apply for the new keepers tax! I thought that was the whole point...
2: Will new keepers/seller simply amend the sale dates on the forms to the end of the month to not fall foul of the double tax issue? What if the seller puts one date in & the buyer the other?

They haven't required people buying tax to provide a certificate for a while now. The continuous insurance requirement does that behind the scenes all year.cptsideways said:

The buyer doesn't put a date on anything that actually matters. The seller tells DVLA when the sale happened. Would YOU lie about a few quid of tax at the risk of getting some random numpty's speeding and parking tickets heading to you? No, me neither.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
