There is no way in science/physics to ascertain if time is going forwards, backwards or it has stopped.

Similarly, there is no explanation in any reasonably modern version of the Grand Unifying Theory of what time is.

There may be particles/waves that travel through time, and could reach back to the Big Bang and act again there/then.
