Hi

I need to remove my automatic garage door opener, it works ok just need a bit more space. I presume it is just a case of unbolting and then tightening up the spring on the door so that the door will open it self?

Does any one know if there are any obvious problems I may encounter once it is removed? I was going to replace the end roller but guess it is not possible due to the location of the wall.

There are some photos below of the opener, if any one wants the opener once removed you can have it for free smash.

Fairly straightforward to remove, but you might have to replace the door handle and locking mechanism (cables, latches etc) as they may have been removed as they wouldn't have been necessary when automated.

I was looking at that but will probably just use bolts as the garage is integral to our house, and as you say there is no handle etc at the mo.
