I have my Kitcar for sale, I get a text from a company called "Best-cash-dealer". Offering a rather too good offer for cash.

I clicked on the link they sent, they have a picture from autotrader, my advertised price, and there offer.
It says they make there money by selling it on with finance?

It also says, no fee unlike we buy any car.

Is this a bogus/scam just trying to get me details.

Is it legit, and they will just bargain on price when collecting?

Do I run, run and run a bit more...

Or is it worth a go see what they offer?

Also seems a little odd, a company like this would want a kitcar to sell?

This is a screen shot from their link

Google found thishttp://m.hotukdeals.com/ask/www-best-cash-dealer-com-2015940?mforwarded=true

Apparently the website was only registered today.

Make of that what you will!

Interesting that the contact number on that website also relates to best-cash-deal.com which is now showing as Temporary Disabled?

That website was registered on Sept 26, 2014.

WhoIs for the site has full registrant details, if you are so interested, which appears different for each site.

Did you read it, just to find the slightest mistake?

It does seem suspect that only just been registered, but I suppose everyone has to start at some point?

I just called the number to see what I get, and it said welcome to the car buyers group, offices are open 9-6, mon- fri.

It just seems a bit too well done for a scam of my details, not that I would give them.

Ah scam uncovered...

They want a £75 "refundable" deposit, via a pay point voucher!!

In other words take a load of deposits, then they run, I imagine.

Really?

Sorry, I would not even give them a second glance as it is too obvious some kind of scam. But do let us know how you get on with them.

I hate to say it, but I think that messing around on the computer on a hotel veranda in Corsica is not the best use of time when you're at a hotel in Corsica wink

I received a similar text at at 13.27 offering to buy my car from auto trader at a small discount from the asking price through best-cash-dealer so grateful for your research into how they try to scam you.

10 mins ago I received another text saying "hi, I tried to call without answer....I want to buy your car from autotrader, please email me at " then a legitimate looking email address. I had no missed calls or texts to say I missed a call. The text also does not have a number, just comes through as a name "Steve" much like texts from companies can come (e.g. Orange, papa john). I have not emailed as fear another scam and don't want them to have my email. Has anyone else received such a message ?
