Hi all,

I found this inside the door today, while sorting a problem with the inner door switch not working.
I'm not sure what its off? Any ideas anyone? It looks like it should go over some sot of push switch but i cant see one that it would fit over, on the door anywhere?

Great to see the car, I popped over when you first bought it to take a look, just rebuilding mine at the moment but now in australia!

Have fun!

Hi Ryan, hope your well,

Yeah i'm wondering if its a red herring now, due to the lack of suggestions. I'll stick it in by box of bits.

Glad to see you got the cerb over there, iv'e got to say, I am a bit jealous of you driving around out there, must be a real headturner.

Hope the rebuild was a planned one and not some sort of catostrophic failure. I had to put a new clutch and slave in mine last year, that was interesting as the mk1 clutch is no longer available, but all good since then.

Good luck with the rebuild

Simon.

Looks like a cover to go over the door switch (the one that detects if the door is open or closed)

Hi Colin,
Thanks for your help.

Would that be the magnetic one (which would be behind my hand in the photo) on the bottom of the door?
I did look at that one but couldn't see why it would go on that one as it has no moving parts?
Or is there another door switch somewhere?

Regards, Simon.

No it doesn't. Cerbs (with a very few rare exceptions) don't have a mechanical door switch and that wouldn't fit over the reed sensor in the door which doesn't have or need a cover anyway.

I think i'll pop the other door card off and see if there is one on that side anywhere, idea
I'll keep you informed, hopefully if there is, it will still be in place and not lying in the bottom like this one was!
