Well if you can afford the newer 4.7 go for that. They take the miles well.
The best advice is to spend £20 on Grants book, everything is in there

Hi all
looking to buy a V8 Vantage, been looking at a few and after for a bit of help.
Seen two i like first a 2007 4.3 with 30,000 miles full A/M history from a A/M dealer. The second a 2009 4.7 with 58,000 miles again full history and main dealer.
Thanks Steve
TBH You would have to be one hell of a driver to appreciate the difference between the 4.3 and the 4.7... I doubt that there are many people on here who could take the 4.3 and drive it to its full capabilities... me included...looking to buy a V8 Vantage, been looking at a few and after for a bit of help.

I would never be put off by mileage... These have bullet proof engines. Main thing is to have a full vehicle inspection and make sure that the one you select has been looked after properly.. And main dealer stamps will not necessarily guarantee this...
I recently saw a service book for a V8V with a KwikFit stamp in it... LOL
Don't rush your purchase..... Good luck...

I must be one hell of a driver because I can appreciate the considerable difference!I may not be able to milk a 4.3 to the point that I "need" a 4.7 but I sure can tell its a different machine in so many ways.
Having owned both, would I get a low miles 4.3 or a high miles 4.7?
Dunno. The head says 4.3 because low miles means low depreciation. The heart says 4.7 coz its lush!

Or.... Buy a 4.3 and turn it into a 4.7 fire breathing dragon
Which is fine if it's a keeper but not so if it is intended as a time limited step on the way to even greater things. If the latter, you will find the modified car harder to sell and not get the money back that you have spent. On the other hand, you can end up with something superior to a standard 4.3 or 4.7 if done well hence William's comment. For me the decision was easy, I wanted an early 4.7 as a keeper. That plan was working absolutely fine until I test drove a V12…….
