LDV Maxus reverse lights not working
Discussion
Hello everyone,
This is my first post, so excuse me if I put it in wrong section but I couldn't find better one.
So I've just bought a LDV Maxus, and when I got home I realized that my reverse lights are not working. I've never had ldv before so I don't even know how to open the bonnet, and where to look for a fuse box. Finally even if I find fuse box I won't know which fuse may be responsible for reverse lights and there is not so much info on the internet regarding this matter. Finally it seems a bit strange to me that both lights went at the same time so it may not even be a fuse, but then I don't know what could cause this. If anyone here had a maxus and the same problem, pointing me in the right direction will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bart

Always assuming they did both go at the same time. Are there even two bulbs fitted? Start with a pair of new bulbs, and check you've got +12v to them (ignition on, engine stopped, in reverse). If you haven't, check you've got +12v to the switch on the 'box. Jumper across the two terminals on the switch. If you've not, then it's time to check the fusebox. Finally it seems a bit strange to me that both lights went at the same time
It's all above but in order:
1) Check for presence of functional bulbs. Don't assume they both failed at once. They probably failed individually but no-one bothered replacing them because they did not feel they needed to, (I don't think they are an MOT failure are they?)
2) Check for appropriate fuse.
3) Check reverse switch (on gearbox somewhere).
In truth if you know where to look all the above notwithstanding I'd probably first slide underneath the van and check that the cable coming off the reverse switch is still connected to the switch...
