What are the chances that this plate was 'an unfortunate coincidence' and not a snide insult by Clarkson and crew?

Seems a bit too good to be true.

But I'm over it...

Exactly, I call bullst, but I also don't care. Comedians get away with far more close to the bone and risqué jokes on TV, why should Top Gear be any different?

According to JC if he'd wanted to use a number plate to shove it up them it would have been W3 WON

Top Gear and Clarkson? That plate a coincidence, really? It's a typical cheap TV joke for them. God I hate Top Gear and the entertainment comedy it has become.

The only unfortunate thing was the Top Gear team meeting with a load of idiots in Argentina and attracting their ire.

Given the previous shenanigans they've got up to I certainly wouldn't put it past them. But that was the genuine plate for that car, so at least they didn't just stick on a provocative number plate.

And the scale of the protest makes it seem that it must have been organised.

Mainly because comedians don't, generally, drive around foreign nations causing an international incident.
It was stupid. It wasn't accidental and I think saying that it was will come back to bite them.

"982" registration on a Porsche 928?

Now that's a real coincidence!

You need a check up from the neck up.

Book yourself some basic English lessons too.

Some Argentinian Tit said:
"Two other high performance cars were said to carry plates with final digits close to the number of fatalities sustained by the Argentinian and British soldiers in the war. These plates, N269 KNG and EKH 646J, roughly coincided with the death tolls: 649 Argentinians and 258 Britons."
My contempt for the Argentinians and their pathetic bleating has always been somewhat high. It's gone off the scale now. Utter and total wkers.

Lol at some of the comments on the guardian website. The lefties want BLOOD. Not metaphorical blood, but actual real blood and maybe some innards and possibly heads on spikes. Why are lefties so full of hatred? FFS just watch something else.

Unfortunately, this is very much typical of the new(er) poster Dog.

Other forums are available, apparently. frown

The car has had that registration number since it was registered in 1991. I believe it was a misunderstanding.
