Spare wheel stolen on D3, need replacement

Hi Everyone,

Had a guy off Pistonheads come to view my car today, he's happy to buy it, but when looking at the car, we found the spare was missing.

Just looked properly, and the winch has been cut, so it looks like some thieving oik has nicked it. I've got to check with Land Rover if it is as the garage by fluke as it has some rear suspension work last month, but it doesn't look likely.

I therefore will need to buy a new winch and new spare tyre. Recommendations on where I can do this as cost effective as possible would be hugely appreciated.

Had the very same a few months ago with our D3. was it a HSE 19" wheel? if so i have one, i looked around for a replacement and came up with a local chap selling a complete set so have 3 to sell. was going to refurb our originals before selling but that doesnt seem to be top of the important list (new house)

Forgot to add, i got a replacement winch from a chap on the Disco3 forum, from memory land rover was well over £100,

This happened to me about 6 weeks ago, used AJS 4x4 on top of Reigate Hill in Surrey. They sourced me a replacement wheel with decent tyre, and fitted a new whinch with the RLD Spare Wheel protector for £350. So if you are local then give them a bell.

And you'll need the spare wheel protector as the scrotes will most probably be back.......

It's a solid metal disc that sits in the recess and means the tea leaf can't get his fingers in there to cut the cable. Designed by a chap on the D3 forum, good bit of kit!

I think LR charge £400 just for the wheel.......
