Over the winter i'll be taking my RS off the road and Sorning it. To save money on insurance are there any companies out there that could cover it being sat at home for say 6 months making it cheaper as there is a lot less chance of it getting damaged etc... Anyone know of any companies that do this? There maybe a name for it?

My Westfield is SORNed and my insurer sold me a 'laid-up' policy to cover it from fire and theft while it was garaged. They are MR Bloor in Merseyside. However, A-Plan told me they would do it for far less by offering a limited mileage policy of 1,000 miles p.a. and that would allow me to get it MOTd annually perfectly legally.

Google for 'laid up' insurance. Covers theft, fire but not road risks.

That has been my experience. My various premiums on kit cars are so low (well sub £100) there is no point in dropping cover and rearranging off road cover. Just insure every one, once a year. Still a fantastic bargain for 365 days cover.
