The "Wedge" name

Following on from the value of classic cars thread....
Why do we call the TVR Tamsin 350/390/400 etc a Wedge? Yes it is Wedge shape but so were lots of other cars of that era.
We don't have Lotus Wedges, Ferrari Wedges, Triumph Wedges, Lamborghini Wedges do we, so why do we have a TVR Wedge? Everywhere you look (including this forum name) is "Wedge".
Now here is the question: TVR "Wedges" are under priced: we all agree that. Could it be they are not taken as seriously in the classic car world as other sports cars of that era....because of this nickname?
Someone new to TVRs might be tempted to spend five figures on a TVR 400se..................but would they be as tempted to spend that money on a car called "a wedge"? Would a Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer or F40 be worth the eye watering values they are at today if they were both called, even by their own owners, Ferrari Wedges......?

'cos they cost a lot of "wedge" when new?
It's a term of endearment not derision. A TR7 hasn't been nicknamed a wedge because nobody cares.
OR.. compared to everything else TVR have made, before or after,they stand alone in terms of design. Everything else has curves.
