Terrible cheese, clearly it is a marvel and will rake in a load of cash which is good but what on earth happened to Brian Wilson's voice?

I've seen a couple of excerpts on the news, can't imagine sitting through the whole thing. I get that some people like that sort of thing, though.

I thought that about Brian Wilson, maybe he can't really sing anymore.

Reasonably entertaining to watch. Sounds terrible on the radio though, most of the singers could be anyone.

"BBC for the love of music" should actually say "BBC. For the love of talking nonsense 75% of the time"

I'm a fan of The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson.

That track is awful. It smacks of someone trying to see how many artists they can get on one cover version. Most of them only singing three words.

It has lost the original flow and rhythm, and, as mentioned, most of them could be anybody.

Brian Wilson has had a lot and of health issues over recent years but his is one of the most distinctive voices on it. Didn't know from hearing it that even the likes of Elton John were involved.

Over-produced to the extent it is very hard to identify the different voices. Or else it highlights the lack of character in contemporary voices. Brian Wilson appears to have lost the ability to sing at all going by the amount of work on his bits.

I can still identify most voices in the Band Aid single, but maybe that's because they were artists of 'my time'. Perhaps kids today could just as easily identify Wrong Direction in that mish-mash.

Brian Wilson's voice was shot by the early 70's -

God only knows is untouchable imho -- I've never heard a decent cover of it - (nor do I want to tbh)

I can't link from here but there's a fab clip on Youtube of Carl Wilson singing it in some cafeteria somewhere - must be quite late on as he looks badly mulleted and ill but even then it still sounds good.

In terms of Beach boy voices:
Carl Wilson>Brian Wilson>Bruce Johnston>Dennis Wilson>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mike Love....

God only knows how much that cost.

Chris Martin within 500 miles of Brian Wilson is Defcon one to me.

The original is full of vocal harmonies and simple backing; this is the wrong way round, and doesn't work. Bad choice of song to mangle, badly done.
