odd road markings

[rodgling]

Two lanes of road approaching a small roundabout with options for straight ahead or right turn, simple enough:

BUT - the markings on the right hand lane show "right only"... until you get to just before the roundabout, at which point they also show straight on... any idea what they are trying to achieve with this inconsistency?

That's an odd one, slap on the wrist for the designer me thinks!

Didn't we discuss this about a year ago?

Some plan to remove turn right arrows leading up to roundabouts to prevent people unfamiliar with roundabouts from turning right in front of the roundabout instead of going around it.
