Hi,

It's my partners new car, looking to update the nav. Does anyone know if this will be disc or HDD?

If disc where is the disc to eject and check for the update?

Thanks in advance

If it's COMAND then it is hard drive. And Mercedes should update it for free when it is serviced. They did mine.

Thanks Ari - Problem is Merc are quoting £800+ for a service, not happening on a 5 year old car! So looking to update through some other means

I did a service plan with my local dealer. Think it was about £1,400 and that covered three annual services, three MOT's, and by keeping the services up you automatically get free breakdown cover via Mobilo. Also got free puncture repairs, free courtesy car (including insurance), 20% labour discount for any work done over and above normal servicing.

I worked it out that if you stripped out the MOT costs, breakdown cover costs and then divided by the three services it was about £400 a service. A good indy must be averaging £300 a service I'd guess.

Add to that the car had a FMSH so must be some merit in keeping that going and it became something of a no brainer.

And I got my sat nav updated. smile

+1 for the service plan. I always thought that this was just a way of spreading cost by monthly payment. Not true. You can either pay monthly or lump sum. I just had my slk in for b plus service.. Inc transmission fluid. Quote was £1410.

They called me back and said that they would the service plan for £1090 all in, this would also include the next A service as well.

If you sell the car you can get the money back (pro rata'd) or use it as a selling point
