I am a daily PH reader and avid fan of the site. I am also previous user of the classifieds section, having held in there and sat patiently whilst the classifieds were reworked etc.

In fact I have bought one car and sold another successfully through PH classifieds in the past.

The problem I have, now advertising another car for sale (hankering for a C63), is the volume of bogus emails phishing for my information have risen significantly. To the point where I am struggling to genuine filter out the bullsh*t scammers from potential (possibly eliterate) buyers emailing me.

Has anyone else observed similar or am I just getting old and these things starting to agitate me!?

Here is the latest example from last night, little sh*ts! :

Email: eliotphilips@greatcars.uk.pn

Name:

Phone:

Message:
" Good evening!
I am very interested in your car. Can you please let me know what is the real price for it? I saw your add on Piston-Heads but another listing has the same car up for sale at half your asking price.

Here is the link where you can see it: tny.de/ww-piston-heads-com-classified-used-cars-audi-used-autos-audi-2861176

(if the link does not work copy and paste it into a new tab window) "

Unfortunately, as annoying as it is, there is little we can do with these emails. Eventually we hope to have an internal messaging system, so we can monitor all emails that go through the site. We also hope to have CAPTCHA codes on the site, hopefully it stop those pesky bots. However, in the mean time please disregard all emails which contain a link. The quickest way to tell if a buyer is genuine, is to ask them to call you. If they refuse, please cease all contact.

If you get any more of these, please forward the link on to adverts@pistonheads.com and I will get the website closed.
