Cleaning Griffith basket weave alloys?
Discussion
My Dad has recently bought a Griffith 500 LE and I'm asking this on his behalf.
What is the best thing to clean the OZ basket weave alloys without damaging them?
I use Meguiars hot rims on my car (which admitedly I'm slightly less worried about long term damage), which I'm sure is mildly acid based as you are meant to wash it off within 30 seconds or a minute.
Does anyone use the Zymol or Swissol products?

Assuming you mean Oz split rims you need to use soap & water, a toothbrush or similar is handy.
Then apply good old elbow grease!
Do not use alloy wheel cleaner as the acid will attack any unlaquered parts of the rim.
When they are cleaned and polished use Wheelwax which stops the brakedust adhering to the rims, they will need re-waxing every couple of months.

I use a product called MC2. (from www.waxwizard.co.uk/).
It's a degreasant that you basically dilute and apply with a paintbrush - just watch the brake-dust disappear!
It's not acid so doesn't ruin your alloys, but it's REALLY good!
Search for it on google and you'll see it mentioned on loads of car forums.
