Could your new address affect your credit score?
Discussion
Basically what I'm wondering is whether your credit scored be influenced by previous occupiers of an address?
I have just moved into a flat that I've just bought and currently my given address to anyone financial is still my parents' house as previously I was renting. They have no credit issues and neither do I at the moment and would like to keep it that way.
I am just concerned that as the flat was previously rented at the "budget" end of the spectrum (2 bed flat rented to 3 different people, one using the living room as a bedroom) that if I move everything across to my flat that my credit score may be adversely affected if any of the previous occupants had credit issues.
If this is a possible problem is there any way to "clean up" the address by making sure that any issues on the records are not associated with me? Would signing up to an Experian trial show me everything for example?
Thanks in advance!
