How loud is your Xbox One?

I've noticed that when in the dashboard it's a bit louder than when it's playing a game. In the quick standby mode it's also audible so I've got it so it switches off normally. It seems fine when playing a DVD. I purchased it on Sunday.

Mine is more or less silent. The only noise I notice is when the external HDD I've got hooked up to it spins up.

I have experienced the fan spinning flat out for about 5 seconds when I first turn it on, and that's pretty loud. Its happened a few times and I have no idea what causes it, but I do leave it in 'instant on' mode.

Mine while playing a game will get louder and quieter as I play, but when I change game I always think it's gonna take off. The fans spin like a mother fker for some reason and it's bloody loud for about 5 seconds, mine is also on instant on mode so that might be why.

I notice that Microsoft are offering to replace noisy consoles although I don't think mine qualifies. As long as it doesn't effect it's operation or well being I don't think I'll pursue it, unless it gets worse. In instant mode it is way too annoying to leave for any amount of time.

Mine is quiet in use, but I'll agree that in standby I can hear it when I walk in the room, so I turn it fully-off now.

The only time I hear mine is if it stays on downloading something after I stop playing. i.e. turn Xbox off, telly off but xbox is still on until download finishes...

Mine is in a TV cabinet though (with good airflow before anyone asks!) so it could be masking it? Think all the noise might go out the back.

Looking on YouTube I don't think mine has the noise issue and is quiet normal.

Mine's almost entirely silent, you really can forget it's turned on. The PS4 is noticeably louder.

Almost silent, aside from a quick whirr when you first load a new disc in.

I took two back the day I bought them because they sounded like fax machines. Third is near silent.

Now it's a few weeks old it's much quieter.
