Pork and egg pie

One of my favourite lunches - but can it be frozen? I know the meat and the pastry is OK but what about the egg bit? Ta!

A fine snack, especially with some salad cream.

Of course it can be frozen but whether it can be eaten safely afterwards, I don't know.

Ah yes well the 'eaten safely afterwards' angle was an implicit part of the question! In short, does egg freeze or does it turn to crap?

Yes, I believe it will freeze and thaw with no nastiness.

I seem to recall we had half Tonne left one Christmas. Cut into big slices and froze.

(this has been forced on me by the CoOp replacing its deli counter with pre-packed overpriced ste, so I now go to Morrisons and bulk buy. Works well for sliced ham and beef!

I've never tasted one of those but being a sweaty sock I suppose a Scotch Egg is the next best thing

I'm sure we used to call this Cumberland Pie. We never froze it, unless the coal ran out of course. Ten miles to school in stockinged feet, etc.

It freezes alright but the egg can go a bit rubbery if it's left in big chunks.

Not eaten one of them in years. Frozen egg should be fine to eat but it will go a bit rubbery.

Only bought already-sliced one from the supermarket, never a whole pie.

Gala or Grovesnor pie. Can be frozen and thawed without any problems.
