Can't help other than to say, although you can't be bothered to look, the easiest thing is to type bluefin in search on here and you'll get lots of threads about it.

I bought one for my 1.6T Corsa taking it from 150bhp standard to somewhere around 200bhp (hasn't been on a dyno yet). It made a noticeable difference with the car pulling noticeably better and it did actually improve my fuel economy when I drive sensibly.

I'd say it's well worth the money, having only paid £320.

My rs250 has clocked up over 70 k with a bluefin installed bin good as gold no problems and still goes like a rocket

I recently Bluefin remapped my 200hp Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost. I've yet to dyno it but I'd say horsepower has increased to somewhere between 240 and 260bhp. It has given the car a noticable increase in power output and it's much more torquey with a nice smooth power delivery. It's rather rapid for a Mondeo!

I would recommend it. Superchips have been around for years and are a well established and well regarded tuning company, and I've not really read anything negative surrounding their Bluefin units. I'd say go for it, just be aware that it'll put more strain on your clutch, DMF and possibly injectors as well if the engine is already quite "highly-strung" (I'm not really familiar with Ford's diesel units so much).

I guess it depends why you want it.

If it's for the extra power, then it's up to you whether it's worth it (22bhp for £320 - not great value to me).
If it's for the fuel consumption, then you need to work out how long it'll take to recoup the cost (plus taking into account the likely extra insurance premium).

I take it it's out of warranty?

You won't really see increased fuel consumption - it just won't go down unless you're hoofing it everywhere as a result of your new-found horsepower wink

It's just a fairly conservative (safe) map for increased power.

I dunno. The increased torque will be useful. People often pay more to remap naturally aspirated engines and gain about 4.5hp, too. wink

Its not significantly cheaper than a proper custom map for most cars - custom map will be better

I guess for something that weighs over 2 tonnes it would come in useful :-)

Cheers all, will definately take all your points into consideration. The car is still under warranty so maybe not worth it, she could just do with a bit more ooommmph for overtaking. I've got a Focus ST-3 250 and was thinking about a mountune for that, anybody got one done already?

£15 per additional BHP

Let's take the Golf R c£32k new with 300bhp that's £107per bhp

Some people remove perfectly servo able exhaust systems to replace with ones promising a touch more power maybe 5bhp at most they seem happy to pay for that

Seems like a bit of a strange comparison given that in the case of the former, you get a little box, and in the case of the latter, you get an entire car for your £x-per-hp.

Also, a Revo stage 1 remap for that Golf R works out at very slightly less than £8 per HP.

Personally, I'd always go for a proper custom rolling road map where one is available. Failing that, one from one of the big specialist tuners, and failing that a Bluefin.
