have had my 4.5 a week now. May turn out to be the best car ive owned

overall really happy with it and impressed with the performance and comfort

i notice a slight lack of torque below around 2700 rpm- i guess this is a characteristic of the engine? maybe remap would improve this

gear up-changes can end up a bit jerky as the revs fall so quickly before clutch pedal is released- the engine is really unlike anything ive had before

i like the adjustable pedals and have improved their position, but i do find the clutch is a bit heavier than other cerbs i drove... What would be the best way to make the clutch as light as possible.. new clutch with RP slave??

advice appreciated

I agree, that takes getting used to. Sometimes a modicum of rev matching helps on upshifts, weird I know!

Yes - New Clutch Pack with RP Slave

I was so impressed with the lightness of touch compared with the old clutch/slave that I encouraged other Cerb owners to try my clutch just to convince myself I wasn't dreaming.

Thumbs up from me as well i had a new clutch and RP slave done by RP a couple of years ago, the pedal action before required the strength of garth and in my first year of ownership i developed awesome calf definition on my left leg whilst my right was like a chip!

when i jumped in the car with the new clutch fitted i thought they had forgotten to bleed it thats how light it was just like an average euro box.

Practice heel and toe changes and you can keep revs on between the changes just don't slip the clutch!

Suspect the lighter pedal is a different diaphragm spring in the new clutch pack, rather than the slave. The RP slave gives you loads more durability over the standard item.

Another thumbs up for the RP clutch - whilst you are at it fit the RP flywheel - it helps the engine spin up faster

so the RP slave is a better engineered item over standard, worth going for anyway?

I had previously changed seals in the standard slave, and the fit of the seals massively changed the pedal weight, and speed of clutch engagement (very tight seals made the clutch slip momentarily).

Joo is based in Chesvagas or Chesterfield contact details on his web site

http://www.kitsandclassics.co.uk

Benefits of a Jools remap are better low down running more power and improved MPG for the 4.5 if it's still running the factory map which is pants!
