Looking for some advice on best trailers.

I have 3 track / toy cars and looking for best trailer to suit them all.

Lotus Elise 111R
Clio 172 Ph1
Mazda Mx5 Mk1

They are all around the same length approx 3.9m. Two of them have relatively low ground clearance as lowered or have front splitter so looking for ramps that will allow this. Must be able to fit a single garage. Old style garage so approx 2.4 m wide and approx 6m long.

Need to have tyre rack and ideally fit a lockable box for Jerry cans etc.

Been having a look and Brian James Clubman seems to be able to take the cars in terms of length, but would appreciate you own advice experience on the best trailer for these cars.

Cheers

I have seen splitters removed before going onto trailors. Which i imagine is a pain.
Twin wheel trailors are easier to reverse imo. And if you want a tyre rack and box its going to be a fair size trailor needed.

I have a Brian James C4 Blue which is the replacement for the Clubman. I had the same issue as you in that I wanted to store my racing car on the trailer in the garage.
In the end I had to buy new as trailers that fit into single garages are like hens teeth! That does also mean that they hold their value extremely well!

I'd very much recommend a C4 Blue and especially a twin axle!

My B J came with a folding towing pole which means that you can get a longer trailer into a short garage.

I had a Brian James Minno Max for my Caterham SV (wide body) and it fitted perfectly for the car and into the garage. It had the added bonus of slide out ramps to avoid all the messing around when loading/unloading, twin axle, tyre rack, storage box for fuel and a fairly flat bed to make tying down easy (unlike similar PRGs). Sadly my new car wouldn't fit, so I now have another Brian James trailer. Minno Maxs do come up fairly regularly on eBay and Pistonheads and a good one is a pleasure to own and tow.

I have a new style garage (an F10 M5 wont fit in the garage due to body width). Anyone have the same issue with wanting to run a dedicated track day car like a clio or mx5 for instance?

I like the idea of storing it on a trailer in the garage and pulling it out to work on or tow.

Storing a trailer somewhere secure is not an option.

Thanks

With regards to the minor max suggested above I tried a 172 cup on my old one and the width was very very tight could see wheels getting scratched

I store my car and BJ minno in a standard sized single garage. It has a Tyre rack fitted.

Used it for a Clio 172, and yes it was very tight at the front but so long as you are careful you can get away with it. Ideally load it with some skinny front wheels fitted. I always winched it on.

Does the clubman fit in a single garage?

I've had both a standard minno and now have one with the fold up tow pole. It's great for space but I have to roll the car back slightly to lift it fully when storing it.

As said, tight on width and length but worked well.

My Westfield fits on my trailer (just!) in my garage. However, I do have remove the jambs of the garage door to get it out. It takes less than a minute.

This saves me paying for storage and the worry of not having my trailer in the garage. It has a tyre rack and petrol can storage - PRG MiniSport with optional 50mm wider axel width.

Forgot to say - best place to shop is the Autosport show. All the main manufacturers are there

Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can find a trailer retailer near me with the Minno Max or C4 in stock and try it out

I just bought myself a brian james autotilt trailer, the elise whilst small is very wide so be careful of that.

Mine is completely OTT as is rated to carry 2 tonnes, but tows great!

Here's the brochure but it's not available new anymore, I paid £1500 and spent £280 on a service, the front axle brakes were shot so needed replaced and there was a few other niggles to sort. It also could do with new tyres but they can wait til next year as they are a bit perished.
