FAQs Question?

Of course, you can.
But all recommendations are normally preceded by a thread (or, at least, a post) from a member saying, 'wow, I got great service from company x' or 'company y really looked after me, you should give them a go' etc etc. Recommendations for detailers (in particular) would normally be accompanied by lots of photos (or receipts for cake). Ideally, recommendations should come from more than one member before they make it onto the hallowed turf of the FAQ.
There have been plenty of shonky garages or detailers in the past who have tried to sneak their details onto the FAQ, in order to try to drum up business. Those entries are often deleted before too long.

Thanks for the answer Mikey. Consensus eh, never seen that happen.
My submission would more than qualify then. His services are used by a number in my AMOC area.
Anyone else have view?
Always useful to have more than one recommendation, but if used and recommended by AMOC memebers then not an issue. You can either add them yourself or email me and I'll do it for you.

It's an awkward thing as the statstones thread has shown - a given dealer or Indy has good and bad experiences. I have felt one Indy tried to turn me over and know another owner who's known on here who's had more than his fair share of issues with mods done by a different Indy. Both are highly praised by others. There's no real answer other than state the obvious and do a bit of research and not take any of them in the faq as an unconditional recommendation.

I take your point, but there is no perfect way / garage. More about listing Indys that specialise in AM and generally give excellent service. The reason for it being user recommended is to stop the garage recommending themselves, which has been said, has happened. Alond with a detailer - until Cake Boy complained.Neil1300r said:

Fine words, but I see my detailing entry has been deleted for a third time. First by BravoV8V and twice by you. I'm guessing out of loyalty for, and on behalf of, the incumbent detailer. But considering your post above and PMs to me, deleting it again appears inconsistent.
There is only one recommendation in the FAQs for a detailer. That might seem odd to some, who will draw their own conclusions...

FFS GROW UP!!!
You emailed me yesterday to ask why, told you it was a mistake and would put it back. Was dealing with ill in-laws yesterday so a detailer reconmendation was not top of my priority list.
Can only assume you have some personal link to the detailer with your constant whinging and rude emails.
We've had other indy's and detailers add themselves BEFORE being recommended or used any people on here. Always knew it would be hassle having a recommended section
Off to delete the whole of the FAQ's, that way I won't get further abuse.

As for Paddy's work, there are innumerable examples of his fine work on this forum. Hence the repeated recommendations. Your insinuations that there might be another agenda are a bit off, if I'm honest.

Funny you should mention that just now. Another repeat 'offender' has just tried to sneak their details into the FAQ (yet again!)PS Hope your in-laws are getting better.
First of all, apologies for the unease my post has caused!
I thought we'd already validated this entry.
Such angry and immoderate responses, just to a point of order, might signal I've clearly hit a nerve with you both. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" comes to mind!
I get really tired of cronyism within groups, that's all and it smacked of that. I have absolutely no 'interest' to plug, FYI.
Happy new year, by the way. No hard feelings.

In the independent garages section, does that mean "not AML" dealers? If so, it seems there should only be 5 of the 8 in that list.
Confused...
The list is independent garages that have been used and recommended by Aston owners on here. If there are other garages which have been used and recommneded by people that are not included it will be because no one's added them in the list.Confused...

Cool. I thought that's what it should be. There appears to be some AML Approved dealers in that list then. If anyone would like the services of a detailer and they're in the East Midlands Jim White is your man. An experienced Aston detailer.

Offering a second thumbs up for Jim White - He has done a fantastic job on two of my Astons
I know both Gibberish and Neil1300r. Both really nice clever guy's. It just show's how the written word can so distort thing's. I know it's the nature of this media we are using but I also know if they were talking face to face there would be NO problem! A lot of that on here so just chill a bit guy's before the vitriol. Please feel free to attack me after all I'm half way down a bottle of black label and if I was home jockman would be carrying me home! xxxx
