Help me understand/interpret my alignment
Discussion
The toe is what you're interested in because it's probably the only adjustment on your car.
Negative numbers are toe out (Looking top down the front edge of the wheel will point out), positive are toe in. The manufacturer has a setting and a tolerance to be within.
There's a few videos on youtube which will give you a full explanation.

Sorry, probably should have better worded my question. I understand what toe, camber and castor are, but i'm really interested in whether the adjustments have been made correctly and if they are 'appropriate' for my vehicle. I am led to believe the A4 has more than just toe adjustment.
Does the report indicate that they couldn't adjust the right rear and therefore my thrust angle is not perfect because of this?

Have you just had new front track rod ends? They were way out and he's adjusted them fine. Guessing the rears are a bit still and couldn't quite do a full job.
No new rod ends, but the Mrs gad recently serverely kerbed the front nearside. They were well out weren't they...It looks like on the front, just the toe has been adjusted, and on the rear, just the camber.
The front toe was quite a bit out, as it has been changed by 2.2 degrees of toe (0.7 to 2.9), enough to make a fairly big difference to front wear patterns I would imagine. It looks to be good now (middle of the specified range/green bar).
However, the rear and front camber readings look very suspect - they are almost identical, front to rear, but almost exactly the same variation side to side, and not a nice round number like 0. The figures for camber are -1.07 & -0.53 front, and -1.07 & -0.52 rear, and the "before" readings on the rear were out of spec but totally different numbers (-2.03 and -1.14). I am wondering whether the garage measured the front twice to get the "after" adjustement figures, and told the computer one of the measurements was from the rear. This might have happened if there were stuck bolts they couldn't adjust, to make the computer give a printout that looks better.
If they have done this, it would throw out other parts of the data, but not front toe, which is the most likey cause for front tyre wear.
If you only had front tyre wear issues, the front toe correction might have cured this, but may have paid for some dodgy readings on the other paramaters, which might still be out of spec., but not necessarily enough to cause any poor driving characteristics.

I'll be honest I didn't analyse it quite as much as that.
Interesting about the comparisons front to rear...
Fair enough, without your earlier post I wouldn't have been able to decipher the diagrams.Interesting about the comparisons front to rear...

As you point out though comparing front to rear it seems a little 'odd'. Perhaps the rear adjustment bolts are seized.
If the car drives ok and the steering wheel is straight then I would just keep an eye on tyre wear pattern.
the only value I can see that might still require some attention is the front camber - its twice as much on one side as it is on the other - I'm guessing it turns right a little more keenly than it turns left?
Having said that, with the toe settings as they were before, I bet the car feels much nicer to drive

Isn't it showing there being 1 degree 7 minutes on the left side and 53 minutes on the right? In which case they're very similar.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
