Does anyone who the firing order for a 2.9V6 and are the cylinders counted 1-3 for for left and 4-6 viewed from the front of the car. There seems to be some conflicted threads about ??

According to the bible, with the fanbelt to the left, the cylinders are numbered 1 to 3 on the far bank and 4 to 6 on the near bank. The distributor starting at the 12 o'clock position and going clockwise is as follows; 6, 1, 4, 2, 5, 3.

Firing order matches this, 1, 4, 2, 5, 3, 6.

ok first "right hand" and "left hand" means as you look at the engine from the back (ie over the windscreen)

right hand (offside) cylinders are numbered 1-3 starting at the front
left hand (nearside) cylinders are 4 to 6, again from the front.

The firing order for the 2.9 is 1-4-2-5-3-6 - ie it starts at front right, then front left, then backwards, right and left consecutively.
