Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the Aston forum man
To fight the rising Trolls?
Isn't there a white knight with an impressive car?
Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need

I need a hero
Holding out for a forum hero 'til the end of the night
He won't be wrong
And he will be fast
And he's gotta be fired up for a fight
I need a hero
Holding out for a hero to set this forum alight
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

Somewhere before midnight
In my saddest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's a forum that will no longer bore me
Racing on the highway and rising with the heat
It's gonna take an Aston man to sweep me off my feet …..

With apologies to Jim Steinman & Bonnie Tyler ….. and to Rob! Don't worry Rob - I didn't mean that last line - everyone knows you are my hero (even without an Aston)! I just want to see this forum liven up a bit!

Hi Amanda. How is the Porsche forum? Nick is doing his best to liven up the Aston forum, but it usually involves foul language!!!

Oi Neil ! Molly posted that just before she went to Yoga. I think that she has concerns about how quiet the forum has become. As for the Porsche GT3 lot I am keeping a bit of a low profile as my car is due to be built in November whilst others have been waiting anything up to 18 months for theirs. They seem to rabbit on about lap times, comparisons and by how much their cars have gone up in value, something I find a little reassuring considering the vast amount of money that was lost on my Vantage S. cry

The thing is we miss you lot, no question about that. We have had brilliant times and driven some serious mileage in our Astons. My decision to go over to the dark side was not taken lightly though my reasons still stand. I would welcome the opportunity to explain why " Pearl" had to go, though not on this forum ! Many tears and lots of gnashing teeth because of the sheer incompetence and inability to fix ongoing problems combined with repeated breakdowns and component failures. cry

Still doing that double post thing smile
Do they talk about their house price rises over there as well? tongue out

What are you driving in the supercar interim?
We had a lovely track day up at Snetterton recently and lots of leather cleaning action going on the forum, as well as the occasional tiff! Plus, some very lucky people are going on a glorious trip around the Highlands and some wonderful Aston work going on in the US of A.

So not all quiet...

Personally I was going to put in an appearance at the D&D until some stooopid git went and broke my leg (it was the only way to stop me scoring a try! I'm faster than I look...). So I am taking this 'opportunity' and putting the Aston in for some warranty work while I am out of action.

Almost 2 years in and my love affair continues with my Virage. Although I might like a change of colour to something brighter in the not too distant future...

If we can put up with Andy with his RS, then I'm sure we can put up with you guys with your GT.

Besides, we need you to get next years Welsh Weekender sorted ;-D

Hi Mike - sorry to hear about your leg but a man committed enough to his rugby for that to happen makes you a hero in my book anyway! wink

In the interim we are driving my fabulous new Polo Blue GT (hope you are suitably impressed). We went to a Petrolhead Nirvana reunion party on the weekend and obviously we were a big presence in the car park biggrin

Would love to hear more about your plans for your next Aston! As for the glorious trip around the Highlands - we are really envious and that is genuinely a case of 'wish we were there' and for organising it Big Scotty really is my current forum hero smile

If we had a car more powerful than the Polo to go out and play in we would have been tagging along in Scotland this coming weekend (if you really would have let us join in) however we are waiting for the GT3 to be built next month and don't expect delivery until December frown

BTW your plans sound great and we really hope everyone has a fantastic time clap Actually I quite fancy a trip north of the border next year so maybe we'll give you a shout then wavey

Bring the Polo! It's not about the metal, it's about the mates ;-)

You be sure and come up whenever you like, we've got plenty room for you two here.

One of my clients has just sold his GT3 to another one of my clients so I am obviously privy to the figures. It's quite amusing to see the premiums being asked in the classifieds.

Harwoods clearly hold Pearl in high regard given the asking price yes

V8S are holding their price then. Used to be lose 30+% on an Aston in the first year. 16k miles? Top work by Rob and Molly in a year

Interesting that they don't mention the upgrades in the advert, I presume it did go to them with the extras such as the manifold and dual plate clutch still on it.
