We just bought this from Hairpin Company even before the car was even advertised by them thanks to a PHer who tipped us off she was for sale again. Can't wait to pick it up next week! 28,500 mile concourse car and we will drive her on high days!

Heres what Hairpin had to say about it last time they sold. Its been through their hands three times now!

"1990 PORSCHE 964 CARRERA 2

This is a lovely right hand drive UK delivered manual example that has covered only 28,000 miles in the hands of four owners from new. It is in unmarked factory fresh condition throughout and comes with a full history from new with every invoice from original bill of sale to date and stamped service book. The car was supplied and has always been maintained by Dick Lovett, the official Porsche Centre in Swindon.

The car was originally ordered from Dick Lovett by a regular customer living in the nearby village of Driffield. He specified Guards Red paintwork with special order tan leather piped red, additional options included limited slip differential and electric sunroof. He took delivery of the car in August 1990 and was clearly a very enthusiastic owner who looked after his new Porsche very carefully. The car was only taxed for use on the road during summer months and he even had some towelling protective seat covers made which remain with the car ensuring that the leather interior remains as new today. He obviously liked the car as it remained in his possession throughout his life until 2008. During his ownership the car covered just 24,000 miles and was serviced annually by the supplying dealer. It was very rarely driven on wet roads and was kept highly polished and covered in a dry garage.

In 2008 the car was purchased by a good friend of the original owner. He continued to take great care of the car, using it rarely in summer months. He also returned the car to Dick Lovett for annual servicing despite living several hundred miles away from them, utilising a transport company for delivery and collection.

We purchased the car from this second owner in 2010 having often admired the car when in the workshop. The car was very quickly sold to a Porsche enthusiast who had been looking for a great 964 to join his immaculate 994 S2. Almost unbelievably, it turned out that the registration number of this 964 was just one away from that on his 944! Both had been delivered on the same day in August 1990, by Dick Lovett.

Once again in this ownership the car remained in store during inclement weather, only being used carefully and sparingly on fine days. It continued to return to Dick Lovett for service work.

Hairpin purchased both the 964 and the 944 from this last owner last summer. Following a great drive back to Wiltshire the car was returned to Dick Lovett for a full service and at the same time we had the none functioning stereo replaced with the excellent new Porsche Classic unit that incorporates DAB radio, CD player, navigation and Bluetooth. Following this work the car once again sold quickly to a local enthusiast with a significant collection of fine cars.

Today the car remains in the most fantastic order, retaining the freshness and even smell of a two year old example. As one would expect, it is a super drive with a tightness and fluency one would expect of a perfectly maintained, low mileage Porsche. It comes with every scrap of paper from new including all books and stamped service book. In addition the unused toolkit is present as are spare keys."

Still prefer the styling of our 3.2C but this is a close second.

Love the interior! Plan on keeping the 90s or going to cups? Got to say I find the design 90s really suit it in a period way these days

I love speedlines and they're £7k for a set. Could always go for a replica set like these but they're very heavy.

Tempted just to leave her as she left the factory. What do you think?

Congrats. Lovely looking car. Enjoy.
Your missing a sticker on the relaycover in the enginebay.

Personally, I owned a pair of the replica speedlines (the ones you'll find on eBay) & i didn't actually think they were that heavy-they weren't much more than my 18" hollow spokes. But, I found the quality very poor & even with careful cleaning and no winter use they tarnished very quickly which would put me off ever buying any more.

I understand why people swap the D90s out for cups but I think they hold a period charm-one vote for keeping it original here!

Congratulations! It looks stunning.

My vote goes with keeping the D90s. Maybe because 964 still on these wheels are now in the minority.

Ride height would be my only to-do.

Get the 4x4 height dropped a bit, and put some spacers on the wheels. Better looking and handling improved, with trad looks kept.

Keep the D90s and flag mirrors. If you do want to change something, swap the steering wheel - but keep the original so that it can go with the car if you ever sell it.
My C2 is standard apart from changing the steering wheel, and getting a spare set of D90s refurbed in anthracite. Oh, and the original headunit was replaced by a previous owner.

That's exactly what I'd do. smile

Congrats OP, it must be a very rare car indeed with such little use and a pampered life.

Dream car, just wish I'd bought a 964 a few years back before the prices went mad.

Saw a lovely C4 yesterday on the A38 coming from Plymouth. It sounded lovely when it went past me. yum

That looks like standard ride height so probably standard suspension and my old 964 C2 was set up that way and it drove beautifully. I much prefered the drive to any I tried that had been messed with.

That is what I have done with my C4. I bought Cup 1's and am getting the original D90's refurbed and stored. Bought an original sport steering wheel which is excellent, and kept the original. I replaced the rear lights as they were cracked and faded, but kept the flags. They look retro now.

Yes concourse is an overstatement. Street concourse maybe although to be fair those are 12 month old photos. We've still not picked the car up so haven't even seen her yet!
