Anyone who's read my readers car thread will know that I hold my little car dear smile

However, it's coming to the time when I need to be making a decision on what to do with it. Sell it, trade it in, keep it or whatever....

If I get back into a 911 (my favourite cars of all time) I realistically I'll need to sell it to help fund it, but will I miss it too much?

Don't rush into selling the MINI because that car has played a unique part in your life and you will never be able to get that back later.

Many thanks for the readers cars thread I followed it from start to end, your a lucky man having that Car, wife, and experience.

Always difficult when you get attached to something at an emotional level. I still have my first car - it hasn't even been road-worthy in about ten years, but I still have it and I'm thoroughly loath to get rid of it despite the fact it's just getting in the way.

Oddly I've never got attached to another car I've owned in quite the same way, despite them being vastly better.

It's a funny one, not least because having owned garage queens before I'd hate to end up with something that just sits in the garage hardly being used.

If I buy a 911, what would I use the mini for? If I run the mini daily, what would be the point in having a 911 that I hardly use?

Maybe I need a "fixer-upper" bit of poverty pork confused

(I am aware of how lucky I am btw smile )

Boring. It's a Mini. They sold oodles, thousands, of them. If you want to rescratch that itch in, say, 10 years time, you'll have so much choice, you'll have your pick.

Unless you've personalised it to such a degree that (a) you're illogically attached to it, and (b) will fail to get much of the upgrade money back.

I wish people would stop posting on here about GPs. I've got PH classifieds and Mini-approved set up as favourites just to look at GPs, and this has made me look again furiousshoot

On a purely financial basis, how does it stack up? What would you have to pay (the 50%) vs what it is "worth" (eg. as a trade-in)? I'm not really that up to date on values (been looking mainly at the 06-era GPs).
