Gents,

I have a 2008 vantage convertable and noticed this morning that the rear glass has started to sperate from the convertable roof fabric. I live in Dubai and the summer months are extremely hot but the car is always garaged or under cover when parked. I have extended premium warranty with AM but they deem this wear and tear and quoted approx GBP 750 to repair. Appreciate your thoughts on the warranty coverage and any advice/guidance on repair. As you can imagine Im not keen on forking out GBP 750 for essentially adhesive and labour.

Regards,
Andy.

Purely on the basis that this isn't a servicable / consumable item it should be covered in some manner (if not an explicit, named exclusion). I'd refer to Gaydon if the dealer principle is unable to help.

Have you contacted the warranty company directly or just taken the dealers word? If the latter give call them and see what they say.

Either the items are covered, in which case they should pay or they're not covered and they should be able to explain what exclusion within the terms and conditions applies.

Thanks for the feedback, I will escalate the request another level at AM Dubai to re-confirm their disposition and contact Gaydon accordingly.

I have had some difficulty in the past with AM Dubai regarding warranty coverage items and suspect this is another case where i will need to push for resolution.

Andy.

Have a good read of the warranty document. There are lots of exclusions, even though it's only a one page document from memory. The extended warranty has nothing to do with the factory. It's a 3rd party warranty with an AM logo.
