I have to sell my Mum's Nissan Qashqai, worth approx £9500 in the book. The cars I've sold in the past are much more in the carandclassic territory or eBay 99p no reserve specials, not this sort of very retail family wagon. Grateful for advice on where the best place to sell this sort of car is - how's autotrader of late?

Autotrader would be your best bet - very popular with the average family bod who thinks they know what they're on about.

Might be worth taking a look at we buy any car? Family cars are their bread and butter and for what I've heard often pay the going rate for them opposed to trying to haggle you down as they are sure to shift them on.

The problem is car supermarkets often have dozens of them in at keep prices (making yours hard to sell). If you want a quick sale wbac might be a better option

Thanks all. Yep I know I'm going to have to be cheaper or hold out longer compared to a car supermarket, mainly because they can offer finance so I am left with people who can just afford it or who can get a personal loan. it's still got a bit of its renewable Nissan warranty so I'm hoping that relaxes buyers a bit. Will give Autotrader a try.

If its sensible miles and good condition I'd just sell it to WBAC. I would be surprised if they offered any less than CAP Clean for it, as its the sort of car they could easily move on within a few days.

Its too expensive to sell privately as most people buying will want finance and probably have a car to PX. eBay auction won't achieve higher than trade price.

Friend recently sold one on AT. Very quickly. got £1500 more than WBAC offer. it was 3 and a bit years old so was around the £11K mark IIRC.

Funny that, I know little of this market but would have assumed the opposite.

Same here. It's a worthy little family trolley, would think the biggest seller would be 2wd derv.

I guess it depends where you are in e country, and if you have had catastrofic drama with diesel ones.....

To me if it isnt going to be 4x4 i see no point in buying 4x4 looking thing..... And having tried to sell them in the past i have been proven right. I have a 2wd sportage thing too, same story, had it for ever.... No one seems to want it up here...

Autotrader pricey at £37 minimum but it came good - got £550 more than WBAC valuation (which no doubt would have been chipped with admin fees and other deductions).

Thanks for advice.
