My Mum has just got a 6 month old Beetle, it has automatic wipers but (Strangely, In my opinion) not the automatic headlights she is used to from her previous Golf.

Does anyone know if it's possible to fairly easily retrofit the auto lights?

Very strange it doesn't have Auto lights as its usually the same sensor that does both that and the wipers confused

You can buy retrofit kits to add it onto a Golf Mk5/ Mk6 but I think it would be worth researching in a bit more detail why it hasn't got it already

This is exactly what I thought.

Perhaps I need to have a look my self and check for sure that it doesn't have auto lights... hehe

Yep, brochure confirms if it has the Rain sensor for Auto wipers it should have the other bits. Does yours have the Auto dimming mirror, or is that missing too? Might give a clue as to whether the lights should be there...

Just spoke to my Mum about this again...

Turns out it doesn't have auto wipers! She had thought that it did until it rained today... banghead

That's it all out the question then because it's my understanding a replacement windscreen is needed to have the sensor.

You do get them don't you... You do get them... rolleyes
