Had a good day at Silverstone yesterday (29th). Was anybody else there?

Like you say - good track, but I could have done with a bit more puf. It is pretty fast and wide. And it was a pain to be passed so easily on the straights.

It was soooo hot too. My tyres looked like, well like those coconut cake things after picking up any old crap lying around in the paddock - and actually appeared to have extra rubber off the track stuck to them. At first I thought they had melted - I assume this in normal (being a bit of a track day virgin I wouldn't know)

yeah...butchered my tyres as well...all the edges have just rolled up and off them!

This isnt normal for an elise at all...as you said, totally down to the insane temp of the track! Did you actually try putting hand to tarmac by the end of the day? It was seriously too hot to touch. Once your tyres have totally cooled down some normal road driving will hack all the crap off and they'll be back to normal minus some rubber

re: being passed...yeah - got eaten all over the place by pretty much everything...but then Silverstone is a very fast circuit. You wouldnt find that on any other track at all. Plus there are some really technical corners at Silverstone which may not have helped you if you haven't been shown them!
