Hi guys,

Im after a replacement car.

Ultra reliable
Comfortable on long journeys
Auto
Good MPG
Not sluggish
Upto 50k milage
The more toys the better plus leather a bonus.
Decent boot space.

I'd sort of set my sights on a circa 2010 Honda CRV diesel but am now looking at Volvo V50 D5. I will consider anything that fits the bill though.

Cheers

Jon.

Good MPG = 30mpg + average

I'm thinking Japanese or Volvo. Ive just read that the V50 is a ford underneath. Is that good or bad? Cheap parts but not as reliable?

Lexus is a good shout but not sure on boot space on the GS model?

I've had a Skoda octavia Mk2 VRS for the last 3.5 years and the vag range of that era have so many common faults i want to steer clear of VAG for my next car.

Ultra reliable hahahahahahahahahahhahahaa. Oh man that deserves another one hahahahahahahahahahhahahha.

They're nice when they work I guess, if underpowered and a bit twee but fk me do they know how to go wrong. I owned one, it was hateful and I have never been so happy to see the back of a car.

I've been looking into the Lexus Gs. They seem very well equipped, but apparently the boot size is woeful due to the batteries/elecmotor

Not supposed to be very nice/sporty to drive either, cvt box apparently keeps the revs the same and just swaps cogs seamlessly so it's kinda drones , makes for effortless acceleration( from what iv read)

Just get the petrol one not the hybrid and it has a massive boot.

They are so luxurious to drive, so smooth and silky they make other luxury cars feel poor in comparison.

Youd get a nice used gs300 on a 58 plate for that with leather and toys. Get the sel.

Only if you buy the hybrid.

Thread title screams GS.

My original link was to a Skoda Superb 170. Not the fastest thing out there, but probably no slouch. I'd be interested in the OP''s thoughts on my suggestion.

Latest generation GS 450h has a bootspace thats fine, if smaller than the non-hybrid, previous generation 450h does indeed have a very small boot (for the size of car)

Could have sworn the OP asked for something 'ultra reliable'? Immediately discounts those options.

e39 530d (or e60).

Ignore the above post, my experience says these are perfectly reliable enough cars.
